SEVILLA

Sevilla lies on the banks of the Guadalquivir River in southern Spain. It is a joyous city merging diverse cultures in a typically Mediterranean climate. Sevillians are famed for their open, friendly character and sparkling wit. Sevilla’s historic quarter is a World Heritage Site. Its Holy Week and Feria de abril celebrations have been declared International Tourist Attractions. Sevilla has twice hosted World’s Fairs, in 1929 and 1992.

CLIC IH SEVILLA

CLIC IH Seville is one of the major and foremost language schools in Andalusia and the most important one in Seville. The school was founded in 1983 and is located in a refurbished Sevilian mansion in the historical, financial and commercial centre of the city of Seville. This high quality venue welcomes an average 200 to 250 students from all over the world every month and offers a full programme and 8 levels all year round. CLIC is part of the worldwide organisation; International House. This association, present in more than 50 countries, guarantees the quality of methodology, equipment and services. The dynamic, motivated and highly qualified teaching staff has a wide experience (minimum 2 years) in teaching Spanish to young learners and adults and undergoes constant training aimed at updating their methods and material. CLIC IH Seville has a proven experience in the teaching and coaching of groups of young American students. The language courses are complemented with a full leisure and cultural daily programme which reinforce the practice of language skills and contribute to the cultural and linguistic immersion of the students. The staff available at CLIC IH includes cultural coordinator as well a welfare coordinator in charge of ensuring comfort and security for all students.

THIS SCHOOL OFFERS:

  • Facilities: Library, computer room with Internet access, study room, auditorium.
  • Student relations: 22 classes per week. Attention is paid to each student’s personal progress. Optional classes on various subjects including phonetics and pronunciation are offered.
  • Human resources: Program director, assistant program director, director of the training department, large teaching team that is highly specialized and knows different languages.
  • Lodging: The school provides housing with a host family in double or single room or dorm. Students stay with specially selected families who live within twenty minutes walking distance from the school and that have experience hosting students. Most have children who are of approximately the same age as the students they host.
  • Exchange with Spanish students: There is an exchange program with Spanish students who study at the school.

PROGRAM ACTIVITIES:

  • Extra-curricular activities: 10 to 15 hours weekly, trips to places of interest in Seville, participatory sports, lectures and art history and culture classes, etc.
  • Day trips: Two trips normally taken to Granada, Córdoba, Cádiz and/or Ronda.
