SALAMANCA

The city of Salamanca, World Heritage Site and Cultural Capital of Europe in 2002, is known for some of the most beautiful historical and architectural landmarks in Spain. The Plaza Mayor, the plateresque style of the Cathedral, the facade of the University, and the Church of San Esteban are just some of its must-see sites. The city is situated along the famed Silver Route taken in the early Middle Ages by the Al-Andalus Mozarabs to make pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela. It is also part of the Castilian Language Route, which includes the most significant locations in the cradle of Castilian Spanish and its evolution throughout Spanish history.

ENFOREX SALAMANCA

Founded in 1989, Enforex is one of the largest networks of Spanish language schools for teens and young adults. With schools in Madrid, Barcelona, Marbella, Salamanca, Granada and Almuñécar, Enforex welcomes more than 15,000 foreign students to Spain each year. More than 3,000 teenagers from 42 countries attend its International Summer Camp Program. Enforex teachers are part of a dynamic and experienced staff. Lessons on Spanish language and culture are complemented by afternoon and weekend activities. The school selects with care its host families and other student housing.

THIS SCHOOL OFFERS:

• Facilities: Library, computer room, large student room, conference room, cafeteria, video room, patio in the Renaissance style from the XVI century, sports hall, large gardens, basketball court, football, and pelota court. The school is located in the center of the city (five minutes far from Plaza Mayor).
• Student relations: Close personal attention is given through academic tutoring twice per week outside of class hours.
• Human resources: Program directors and a large teaching team with strong backgrounds and experience teaching foreign languages. Most speak several languages.
• Lodging: The school offers housing with a host family for the June and July courses.
• Exchange with Spanish students: Exchanges are possible with Spanish students who are studying other languages at the school.

PROGRAM ACTIVITIES:

• Extra-curricular activities: Participatory sports, trips to places of interest in Salamanca, cooking classes, music and theater classes, etc.
• Day trips: Two trips, typically to Ávila, Segovia, Valladolid and Sierra de Francia.
