Spanish Language and Literature Programs for High School Students at CEELE-accredited Schools in Spain Preparation for the Advanced Placement Spanish Language Exam and Advanced Placement Spanish Literature Exam
ICEX

Established in 1996, Eduespaña is a nonprofit organization founded to advance the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language and enhance cooperation between institutions devoted to Spanish language education.

CEELE is an acronym which stands for “Calidad en la Enseñanza del Español como Lengua Extranjera” or “Quality in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language.” CEELE accreditation is granted to deserving schools only after a rigorous review of their qualifications by the prestigious Department of Modern Languages of the University of Alcalá de Henares, and by Eduespaña.

To receive CEELE accreditation, a program must meet internationally recognized, rigid standards concerning the curriculum, teacher qualifications, quality of teaching and materials, student-teacher ratio, and attention devoted to students (i.e., lodging, special needs, airport pick-up, certificates and grading). Other factors, including: the extracurricular activities, facilities, equipment, and student exam results are also reviewed to determine whether the school meets the CEELE high standard of quality.

Furthermore, the Spanish schools selected to participate in this program have extensive experience teaching North American students.
